Ashtyn Kennedy

Born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, I grew up with a passion for learning and knowledge while being an athlete. After graduating from Southern State Community College, I left school for a job offer in NYC in January of 2020. I now realize that it was a blessing. Through my employment history, I have worked in different environments in different capacities, giving me a very unique, tested skill set. Now I have the honor of coaching and teaching the next generation.

Unfortunately, like most Americans, I realized I couldn't afford a 1-bedroom as a single woman working full-time. We have normalized hustle-culture as a way of coping with the extreme greed and price gouging we have witnessed in our lifetime. What started as a slow increase has become a race for profits from those who have too much yet still scream for more. We cannot continue to allow our democracy to be poisoned into a barely functioning corporatocracy.

As a working-class Alabamian, I will represent every resident of Alabama's 6th Congressional District with integrity and enthusiasm. They have made it so that we have only our debt to lose.
